The problem with cooling water
The removal of excess process heat is a challenge for almost all industries. Water is the most heat transfer medium in cooling circuits. However, water provides ideal living conditions for microorganisms such as Legionella. These bacterias create a sticky layer called biofilm on the surface. Biofilm causes corrosion, reduces the efficiency of the heat transfer process, which leads to energy losses, and poses a significant health risk to people and the environment.
Continuous disinfection of process water is legally required in many countries to prevent such hazards. Usually "environmentally harmful" biocides were used for disinfection. The effectiveness of biocides is limited as the microorganisms adapt and become biocides resistant.
Advantages of the HP-System
Eliminating biocides that are harmful to the environment
Effective reduction of viruses, algae, germs and bacteria (Legionella)
Removal of existing and prevention of new biofilm
Lower operating costs, e.g. reduction of biocides and cleaning costs
Increased safety for employees and the company and population (VDI Guideline 2047-2)
Reduction of contaminated wastewater
Microbiologically induced corrosion (MIC) is reduced.
Limescale deposits are reduced
Reduction of cleaning effort by up to 80%.
Very low maintenance effort and costs
Energy consumption reduced by up to 30% through improved heat transfer
Short period of amortization
