The problem with wet air scrubbers
Wet separators, also called wet scrubbers, are industrial exhaust air cleaners which typically use water as a filter medium to clean contaminated process exhaust air. These are mainly used when flammable, explosive, moist or sticky dusts have to be filtered from the air.
The particles in the process exhaust air are bound by the water and can then be separated. The cleaned process exhaust air can be returned to production or discharged to the outside. However, the circulating filter water provides ideal living conditions for microorganisms such as Legionella. These pose a significant health risk to humans and the environment. To prevent such dangers, in many countries constant sanitizing of the filter water is legally required and is usually carried out by using "environmentally harmful" biocides.
Advantages of the HP-System
Eliminating biocides that are harmful to the environment
Effective reduction of viruses, algae, germs and bacteria (Legionella)
Removal of existing and prevention of new biofilm
Lower operating costs, e.g. reduction of biocides and cleaning costs
Increased safety for employees and the company and population (VDI Guideline 2047-2)
Reduction of contaminated wastewater
Microbiologically induced corrosion (MIC) is reduced.
Limescale deposits are reduced
Reduction of cleaning effort by up to 80%.
Very low maintenance effort and costs
Energy consumption reduced by up to 30% through improved heat transfer
Short period of amortization
