The problem with ballast water

Large ships take on ballast water to improve their stability. The ballast water is taken in at the point of origin and drained at the destination. Tiny organisms are also ingested through ballast ecosystems. With the increase in international trade, the problems caused by the spread of invasive species are also becoming more serious. Invasive aquatic neozones are among the top four threats to the world's oceans and can have serious impacts on the ecological balance, economy, and public health.
An effective way to avoid such damage to the ecosystem is the ballast water purification by using chemicals is widespread. However, the chemicals used are ecologically harmful and expensive. Therefore, alternative disinfection methods are now increasingly sought.
Advantages of the HP-System
Eliminating biocides that are harmful to the environment
Effective reduction of viruses, algae, germs and bacteria (Legionella)
Removal of existing and prevention of new biofilm
Lower operating costs, e.g. reduction of biocides and cleaning costs
Reduction of contaminated wastewater
Microbiologically induced corrosion (MIC) is reduced.
Very low maintenance effort and costs
The solution for the following industries:
