The problem with fountains
Many cities around the world has fountains as a landmark. However, as beautiful as fountains are, they can be dangerous for people. Fountains become polluted by environmental factors such as dust, pollen, seeds, leaves, as well as contaminated by humans, birds and other animals.
While limescale and algae primarily impair the optical appearance and technically flawless operation, bacteria and fungi cause a widely underestimated hygiene risk. At temperatures above 20 °C, contaminated fountain water offers perfect growth conditions for microorganisms such as legionella.
The water mist (aerosol) created by the fountain contain bacteria which may pose a risk when inhaled. Fountains in a public area require adequate water quality to eliminate a health threat to the population.
Advantages of the HP-System
Eliminating biocides that are harmful to the environment
Effective reduction of viruses, algae, germs and bacteria (Legionella)
Removal of existing and prevention of new biofilm
Lower operating costs, e.g. reduction of biocides and cleaning costs
Increased safety for employees and the company and population (VDI Guideline 2047-2)
Oxygen level in the water is increased
Reduction of contaminated wastewater
Microbiological Contamination is reduced (VDI guideline VDI 6022)
Very low maintenance effort and costs
